March update and changes.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on the 8th!
Future Home Learning – In the event of Bubble closure and/or family isolation, we will contact you regarding Home School tasks and provide a work pack (which mirrors skills being covered in school). We recently sent you a Parent Mail with the details.
We are working hard to provide learning for all families. The feedback from parents/carers indicates families are trying to home school different age ranges at the same time, in a variety of ways, whilst trying to work from home (with a range of different devices/sharing devices). For this reason our Home Learning includes practical activities, paper based and book learning, as well as online pre-recorded lessons. This allows parents to access the Home Learning at a time that suits their family. We will do our best to support everyone, in different ways.
If your child is sent home due to Bubble/Class closure, learning happening in school is always available on the website/parent mail. If you have difficulties accessing learning in these ways, please contact us. We will keep in weekly contact with you via Google Meet, phone calls, emails and messages; where we can chat about any difficulties you are having and give feedback on Home Learning. Any children with SEND will be provided with additional activities.
Complete the 4 Phonic video sessions each week, the Maths tasks and explore the creative/PSHE tasks. Record your work in you Home Learning books we sent home/on your whiteboards and upload the things you are proud of to Tapestry. The DfE expects a minimum of 2 hours a day for primary age children (EYFS). We would suggest that you deliver this in short bursts, around your other commitments at home.
Please remember; where there’s no fun, there’s no learning.
Do your best each day, you cannot replicate school at home. Short activities, with breaks in between. |
You can also use our HEROES web page for phonic and handwriting guidance Reading & Writing Heroes.
And you have your Bug Club logins for online reading books. Please aim to read at least 2 books per week (visit our Bug Club web page for tech help).
Please log on to NumBots twice a week and explore the games/stories (visit our Numbots web page for tech help).
PHONIC INFO –
We learn our letter sounds (phonemes) alongside supportive actions. We use Cued Articulation techniques, which support speech and language. Cued Articulation is a set of hand cues for teaching the individual sounds in a word. These cues were devised by Jane Passey. Her videos can also be found on YouTube.
Pure alphabet sounds and Cued Articulation hand cues. Thanks goes to SignWithSte for the video, on YouTube. We do not used Cued Articulation actions for vowels. So these are not in the Video
Our actions for a e i o u a= ants climbing up the arm, e=elephant swinging his trunk, i=itch arm, o=trace o shape of mouth with finger, u=point upwards.
