Sponsored Activity Afternoon 2019
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that came along to watch their children take part in our annual FOSEIS Sponsored Activity Afternoon. The children had lots of fun trying out a variety of sports and activities during the course of the afternoon. We will announce the final amount raised shortly.
Creepy Crawly Visit
Our Reception children had a surprise visit from some creepy crawlies and other animals on our ‘Wow Day’ this year; they had the chance to observe the animals very closely and even hold some of them… some of our teaching staff were very brave too!
Ark Farm Visit
Our Year 1 children were visited by Ark Farm on Monday 20th May. They got to meet and observe a variety of animals throughout the day, as well as listen to some information given to them by the staff from Ark Farm. Some of the animals made themselves at home and explored all areas available to them… including our benches!
FOSEIS Smartie Challenge
Congratulations to Max our ‘Smartie Challenge’ winner and to Sycamore class for being our winning class.
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped us to raise a staggering £490.00. We will match this and all the money will go towards refurbishing the playground markings.
Scienceaurus Week – Dinosaur Visit
FOSEIS fundraising meant that South End Infant School was able to have some very ‘Roarsome’ visitors!! To help celebrate National Science Week, we were lucky enough to meet Jack the baby Allosauras and a T-Rex called Sophie, as well as have an educational talk given by their owners, Education Group. The children and staff had an absolutely amazing time!
Exploration Station – Outdoor Learning Space
Everyone in Reception was extremely excited when the Exploration Station opened in November. The Exploration Station is an outdoor learning space based in the Reception playground that was paid for by funds raised by FOSEIS. Supporting us also in the groundworks were Kier Construction, The Prince’s Trust and Wickes.
The Reception children sang some beautiful songs they had written about nature and the outside, before the ribbon was cut and the Exploration Station was officially declared open! This is a great example of how important the funds that you help to raise benefited not only for current pupils but also for the children of the future, adding to their whole school experience. A big thank you from us to you.
Thank you to everyone who donated their unwanted textiles to our Bags2School collection, which was held in November. We are pleased to advise that we saved a lot of unwanted textiles from landfill and raised a total of £82.40 for the school. All of the money raised will be spent on projects within the school.
We will plan another collection for the Spring term. Donation bags will be sent home in your child’s book bag nearer to the date.
Items for collection are:
- Clean clothes, bed linen, towels and curtains
- Hats, gloves, belts, scarves, handbags, swimwear and sportswear
- Paired shoes, boots, sandals and trainers
